About

Philip Boston is a Cape Town-born, Australian-raised director and producer based in Los Angeles, California. Known for delivering high-impact, emotionally resonant storytelling with bold visual scope, Boston transitioned to directing after early success as a top production designer for icons like Britney Spears and brands like Nike, subsequently signing with Quentin Tarantino and Lawrence Bender’s production banner.
Over his two-decade career in the U.S. and abroad, his directorial footprint ranges from the landmark Warner Bros. documentary Billabong Odyssey to helming 2nd Unit action sequences for Hollywood blockbusters Point Break and Chasing Mavericks. He has spearheaded some of the world's largest commercial campaigns for global brands including Samsung, Nissan, Canon, Ford, Lincoln, and Red Bull—work that has won multiple Clio, Promax, and Telly awards.
Boston’s international award-winning short film, The Way Home—which he wrote, directed, produced, and edited—has achieved wide acclaim, including winning Best Short Film at the Paladino d'Oro Sports Film Festival. Boston continues to expand his creative toolkit by actively exploring generative AI tools and modern workflows to push cinematic boundaries
